Watauga Robotics: Day 1

Date: 09.18.2018

Goals

  • Take Apart Robot

  • FTC Parts Inventory

  • What do we have?

  • Can we get rid of anything?

  • Log inventory in a spreadsheet

  • Anything that we need and don’t have?

  • Make “Daily Entries” template

  • Make a Decision of number of FTC Teams

  • Make a Decision on VEX

What Happened:

  • Old Tungsteel robot has been (mostly) destroyed

  • Decision has been made not to participate in VEX Robotics Competition this year

  • Received Lego Mindstorm parts donation

  • Started full inventory of parts

  • Spreadsheet with growing list of parts and status on parts

  • For knowing what needs to be bought

What Didn’t Happen:

  • No final decision on FTC teams

  • Effective time management

  • Didn’t have enough wrenches to effectively deconstruct robot

Summary

Overall, this meeting was very successful. We managed to log a lot of our materials and found a lot of parts that we could sell for more money for the club! We are very thankful for the Lego Mindstorm parts donation we received and hopefully we’ll be able to use these in the future for competitions like SumoBots. Next week, we’ll continue taking apart the old robot and logging all of our FTC parts.
