NCWIT Aspire IT Program
June 2018
Watauga robotics gave a talk and lead an activity at ASU's Aspire IT summer camp, an all girls summer camp focused around technology, computer programing and robotics. We encouraged the campers to start or join at First lego League team; they were most interested in driving the Lego Mindstorms robot that we brought.

Club Expo (Open House)
September 21, 2018
The high school hosts an open house at the beginning of each semester as an opportunity for parents to see how their children spend their day. During this time, they let the various clubs set up a booth that provides information and encourages students to join. We participated in that regard, letting perspective members drive several examples of the kinds of robots we build.
Upcoming: SumoBots
April 6th
The concept of SumoBots is similar to sumo wrestling. Using a program, the main objective is to push the other robot off a platform. Appalachian State University, our local college, hosts one of these competitions, which we compete, volunteer, and demonstrate at.

Upcoming: Playhouse Buildfest
April 13, 2019
Watauga robotics will have a booth at the next Playhouse Buildfest. We plan to display and let people drive our robots.

Ongoing: Middle School Initiative
​We are working with local middle schools to establish robotics clubs, giving kids who wouldn’t normally be able to see the science and math concepts they learn about in class come to life
Upcoming: FIRST Advocacy Day at the NC State Legislature
February 27, 2019
Members will be going to the NC State Legislature to educate and inform senators and representatives about FIRST.

Volunteer FIRST Lego League competition referees
November 2018
Team members volunteered as referees for the FLL qualifier competition at Cannon School, Concord NC.
